Luxury Charter Group's Caribbean destination suggestions to whet your appetite:

British Virgin Islands

Possibly the most visited group of islands in the Caribbean, the British Virgin Islands comprise around 60 islands and cays including Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke, and Anegada.

Known as "Nature's little secret" to those in the know, the BVI are a sailor's paradise, with consistent trade winds, aquamarine water and islands close enough to navigate by sight – little more than 30 minutes sail between many of them.

From the main capital island of Tortola, charter guests are able to access a lush and fascinating cruising area about 32 miles long and 15 miles wide. Virgin Gorda entices travellers with its quiet coves, safe anchorages and luxury resorts and villas; Anegada, named the "Drowned Land" by the Spanish, is the only coral island in the Virgin Islands' volcanic chain; Jost Van Dyke is a small enclave island with fewer than 300 inhabitants but more than its share of beach clubs, bars and restaurants. Famous for its delicacies such as grilled fresh fish and lobster, barbecued ribs and the Caribbean's infamous cocktail "The Painkiller," Jost Van Dyke attracts yachts which congregate for legendary parties at Foxy's and the Soggy Dollar Bar. Then there are the bubbly pools on the other side of the island where the incoming water rushing into this tiny tide pool creates a whirlpool effect.

St Martin (St Maarten)

Hailed as "the friendly island", St Martin is a tiny French-Dutch island. Much more than a beach-lover's paradise, the island of Saint Martin is teeming with natural and cultural bounty. Thanks to its climate and untouched natural heritage, the island offers unparalleled year-round watersports and outdoor activities. The capital of duty-free shopping, St Martin also boasts a lively nightlife and culinary attractions.

St Barths

This chic Caribbean island is a magnet for the jet-set. Famous for its boutiques and brilliant dining, right on the beach, St Barths is home to an eclectic mix of iguanas, picture-perfect stretches of sand and palm trees, A-list celebrities and visiting yachts.

Anguilla

Anguilla is a unique blend of high style and low-key elegance, and the best of the good life set to a slow and casual island tempo. There's an abundance of outdoor activities, from diving the coral reefs, to simply reclining on a white sand beach, hitting the water for kitesurfing or paddle boarding.

Antigua & Barbuda

The wonder of Antigua, and its wilderness sister island, Barbuda, is that there are still pristine beaches and stretches of nature undisturbed and ripe for exploration. Along with its beaches, Antigua boasts one of the Caribbean's best examples of historic preservation in Nelson's Dockyard.
There is an abundance of choice when it comes to natural anchorages and tiny islets, watersports, activities, boutiques, handicrafts and nightlife onshore.
